“Every year the Giro delle Dolomiti is my goal of the season. Good rankings are great, but meeting other riders is essential, and that’s what the GdD is all about.”

“I love GdD! For my team Alé Germany and me, the cycling week is an fix appointment of the year! The combination of “easy riding” and competition is perfect! The panorama is speachless and the organisation can satisfy every request!”

For me, the Giro delle Dolomiti is the highlight of the season. A week of racing cycling, fantastic landscapes, sporting adventures on spectacular passes, well organized, the finest food, lots of new friends! While riding in the huge peloton, the Giro d’Italia atmosphere gets going – a wonderful way to discover South Tyrol!

I was 22 in 1986 when I participated in my first giro….and I loved it from the first moment. During the years I get to know a lot of other riders from other countries.
And it is always nice to see them again. Now 39 years later I hope to ride my 20 est giro ! It’s still my main goal of the season, enjoy riding in the beautiful landscape of Südtirol and the Dolomites in good company and with good food. What more could you wish? See you there?

I recently picked up cycling to train for my debut triathlon and qualified for the world championship at the Ironman 70.3 in Mallorca! Now, I can’t wait to ride through the same Dolomite mountains where I once competed as an alpine skier. Returning to this landscape on two wheels feels like a full-circle moment — this time, chasing strength and endurance in a new form.

The Giro delle Dolomiti captures everything I love about the sport; challenge, community, and the kind of beauty that leaves you speechless at the summit. Balancing a career, three kids, and a restless urge to explore, I see cycling as a passport to connection across countries, generations, and gradients. Riding in South Tyrol isn’t just a goal of the season; it’s a reminder of why we ride at all.
