SHORT STAGE DESCRIPTION

This final stage leads to the Salten, the extensive plateau between San Genesio/Jenesien and Merano. After a leisurely warm-up, the timed section of the route begins in Terlano. Several hairpin bends and steady inclines take you up 789 meters of elevation gain to the high plateau, where you can sprint to the finish line on the flat section that follows. At the fairground in Frassineto / Verschneid, there is plenty of food and drink available for the road cyclists before continuing as a group to Meltina/Mölten. On the way to Schermoos Sattel, the highest point of this stage at 1,439 meters, there are two short ramps to negotiate. Once at the top, you can finally relax as we ride to San Genesio in the shade of larch trees, passing paddocks with Haflinger horses and green meadows. Now you can let your wheels roll along the wide road back to Bolzano, where we will be safely escorted by the local police to Fiera Bolzano. There, the 49th Giro delle Dolomiti will conclude with lunch and a closing ceremony featuring the awards presentation.
