Dopo un giro di riscaldamento intorno a Bolzano  si affronta il tratto cronometrato da Prato Isarco a  Lärchenwald: sono 12,2  km  per un dislivello di 1018 m. I primi 5 km. portano a superare un dislivello poco superiore ai 500 mt. con una pendenza costante superiore al 10%. Una serie di tornanti che non danno respiro ci portano all’abitato di Collepietra. La salita poi diventa meno ripida e la strada attraversa prati e boschi sempre però con una pendenza mai inferiore al 7-8%.

GESTOPPTE  STRECKE: BLUMAU – LÄRCHENWALD

Nach einer Aufwärmungsrunde um Bozen herum greift man die gestoppte Strecke zwischen Blumau und Lärchenwald  an: der Aufstieg ist  12,2 km lang und weist einen Höhenunterschied von 1018 m auf. Nach den ersten 5 km, mit einer Neigung ständig über 10%,  hat  man einen Höhenunterschied von 500 m überstiegen. Nach einer Reihe von Kehren, die rastlos ansteigen, erreicht man Steinegg. Danach wird der Aufstieg weniger steil und die Strasse durchquert Wiesen und Wälder, aber immer mit einer Neigung nicht weniger als 7-8%.

After a warm-up around Bolzano the riders face the timed stretch between Prato Isarco and Lärchenwald; the stretch has a length of 12,2 km and a difference in height of 1018 m. After the 5 first kilometres the riders have covered a difference in height of 500 m with a slope constantly more than 10%.  A sequence of hairpin turns leads to Collepietra. Then the ascent becomes a little less steep, but always with a slope no less than 7-8%, and the road goes through meadows and woods.
